paired it with a X570 and a Ryzen R5 3600 with 32 Gb ram @ 2999Mhz.
The case has ample air-flow, the cpu is water cooled w/a EVGA dual 120 rad.
So, despite all this, the video card's fan run @ 100% during boot, regardless of what device I boot into, or OS.
I've tried booting just into a linux live disk, linux on a SSD, windows 10 with/out their adware installed... and no luck. All I get is the sweet sounds of an F-18 taking off for a quick exit out of carrier's deck...this lasts for ~2-4 secs while booting, then it quites down.
If you value your ear organs, sanity and the few minutes of sleep you get while the baby is a sleep...do NOT buy this card, look elsewhere.
ASUS you did me wrong, very wrong with this card.....tarnished your name...I will NOT recommend your video cards from this point on...
01/10/2020 UPDATE:
It turns out, it wasn't the card's fault... I tried it in two other pcs, couldn't replicate the same behavior. So, I bestowed 3 additional stars. Odd thing, the PSU where this happens is a 80+ gold Thermaltake...
In hind sight, the 1660 Ti is underwhelming and a poor choice at the 55.31$ price point.
My next card will be a Radeon for sure.
